The Asian Touring Car Championship (ATCC) restores the vital link between a powerful racing vehicle and the spectator by making the cars, outwardly at least, the same as the road cars. This link is key to the popularity of this category of the sport and translates into bigger sales for the manufacturers, which in part explains the presence of the biggest names in the auto industry. Cars from BMW, Toyota, Nissan, Honda and Proton will be looking to take the top honours in this fiercely contested series.

ATCC is contested in three divisions: Division 1 for Super 2000 Touring Cars, Division 2 for Super Production Touring Cars and Division 3 for cars of 1600cc.

Strict Limits

The mainstay of ATCC is Super 2000 Touring Cars where engine capacity is limited to maximum of 2000cc, and apart from rear spoiler and front air dams; strict limits are placed on bodywork modifications. Costs are kept down by banning hi-tech drivers' aids such as traction control and active suspension and by limiting eligibility to genuine mass-market models.

FIA Sanctioned

The winning formula of quality grids of affordable, closely matched cars and skilful drivers has resulted in a worldwide surge in popularity, placing Touring Cars second only to Formula 1 in mass appeal. The ATCC has reached international prestige and interest, the result of which has seen the championship upgraded to full international Championship status by the FIA.

International Prestige

Under the banner of the Asian Festival of Speed (AFOS) and the expert management of Motorsport Asia, ATCC is set to join the ranks of the premier touring car championships in the world.
