At the start of 2008, Supercar Club Hong Kong and Motorsport Asia Limited reached an agreement to jointly organize the 2008 Asia Supercar Challenge. In 2009, the series has evolved to become GT3 Asia and is now held as part of the Asian Festival Of Speed.

The GT3 Asia Series was established by the Supercar Club Hong Kong and it has been the organizer of the GT race Series since 2003 and the collaboration between Supercar Club Hong Kong and Motorsport Asia has further increased worldwide interest in the series.

Fans around Asia are now able to catch the best supercars in production competing in a fast paced and action filled races at various circuits around Asia. Viewers around the world can also catch the GT3 Asia race on television as the races are captured and broadcast in over 100 countries world-wide.

GT3 Asia is sanctioned under the FIA Sporting Code and National Competition Rule, cars competing in the series include Porsche 997 Cup S, 997 GT3 and 996 Cup, Ferrari 360 and 430 Challenge, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Lamgborghini Gallardo GT3, Lotus GT3, Mosler and Ginetta.

This year’s season line-up will include drivers from Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Israel, Malaysia, Netherlands, Singapore, Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom.

The series has a global presence with Drivers from the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong and Macau. Even China’s first A1GP driver and F1 hopeful, Cheng Cong Fu, was a past driver with March3 International Inc, while former Formula 1 driver, Domenico Schiattarella was a strong competitor in 2008.

This season GT3 Asia will be held at four different circuits with three rounds being held in Shanghai, two in Sepang, one in Sentul and the season finish will be held at Asia’s oldest street circuit during the prestigious 56th Macau Grand Prix.
