Up-and-coming Malaysian race driver Weiron Tan is pleased to reveal his racing program for the 2012 season. The 17-year-old will compete full time in the JK Racing Asia Series with Eurointernational team and will also continue in his sophomore year as a key signing to the AirAsia Caterham Driver Development Program.
Weiron will be participating in the JK Racing Asia Series, which will be his first full season in single-seater racing cars as he makes the graduation from karts. The championship will see drivers competing at some of the world’s most celebrated tracks, with the calendar to be confirmed soon.
By joining forces with Eurointernational, Weiron has set himself up for the best possible year. The Italian outfit took the 2011 JKRAS Team Championship, Driver's Overall and Rookie Championship honours with Lucas Auer. The team also has the biggest achievement in Formula BMW history worldwide, having collected 72 wins, 92 podiums and 88 poles in 154 races competed, winning 6 Team Championships, 6 Overall Drivers Championships, 3 Rookie Cup and the last World Final.
Weiron’s 2012 campaign will be supported by AirAsia and Iterna.
