Nabil Jeffri has been confirmed to drive car number 1 of Eurointernational Team in the JK Racing Asia Series 2012 Season.
The Malaysian driver’s participation was announced by the Malaysian Minister of Youth & Sports Dato' Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek during a press conference yesterday held at Menara KBS in Putrajaya.
Jeffri, who completed the 2011 Season in third will be pushing for the Championship win and his move to the Championship winning team, Eurointernational, is seen as a step forward. Eurointernational claimed all three titles last year, winning the Team Championship and the Overall driver and Rookie Championship titles through the young Austrian driver, Lucas Auer.
The JK Racing Asia Series is scheduled to run two race weekends in Europe for the first time. Two races each will be held at Paul Ricard Circuit in France and Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium respectively, giving a boost to Jeffri and Eurointernational as early preparation for 2013 ATS Formula 3 Cup season.
Eurointernational team principal, Antonio Ferrari said the team have a most impressive track record with wins in various Series around the world and this year is looking to add another feather in its cap by going for the JK Racing Asia Series title win with an Asian driver for the first time.
"The faith that Eurointernational has in me is encouraging me to do my best to win this year’s Championship and move on to Europe next year", said Jeffri.
