The Porsche Carrera Cup Asia blasted off the starting grid in 2003 and has never looked back. It has quickly become the premier sportscar series in the region with a massive fan and media following, proving itself to be a highly-competitive and professional racing series, while at the same time building an impressive reputation. Since its debut in 2003, the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia has visited China, Macau, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea and Thailand. In 2009, the series will once again support the Singapore leg of the 2009 FIA Formula 1 World Championship on the Marina Bay street circuit.

With the 911 GT3 Cup (Type 997) tailor-made for customer motorsport with near-standard vehicles, the model marks a clear step towards a thoroughbred racing car. It enters the 2008 motorsport season with engine output increased to 420 bhp. Equipped with a six gear sequential gearbox, changing gears under full throttle saves precious split seconds
